The Road

Just finished this book. If you're a dad and have a son, you may be able to relate to this story. Loyd raved about it so Chris and I decided to pick it up. If you can handle sad, go for it. Do you want to tell us what you thought Chris?

I disliked the ending of the book. I did not like it at all.

It was different than what I usually like to read, but still worthwhile. It was very Godless and I wonder if that Godless state is a reality for people who are suffering more than we've ever experienced. I think I would feel like there is no God if I were starving and alone with no hope. And the ending probably was the best for me.

I totally read this book... and felt so disturbed the ENTIRE time I was reading it. After I finished I thought, "why did I KEEP reading?" The whole thing disturbed me, especially that part about the pregnant woman and.... you know the rest... I couldn't get this book out of my head... Thanks for the reminder! But it does motivate me to expand our food storage!

So I just finished the book today. Very depressing. I like how the man tried hard to treat his son well in such demoralizing and difficult circumstances. The ending wasn't as bad as I feared from reading Chris' comment. Semi inspirational in that it makes me want to spend time w/ my boys and be grateful for how good we have life with them now. Interesting read though, or listen in my case.
