the Provo Trail Half Marathon
On Saturday K and I ran the 13.1 from the top of the road that takes you to Vivian park, through the provo trail, finishing at Riverwoods. Our goal was to not walk and we rocked. The start was rough. It was cold which I wasn't expecting. There were no toilets at the start and had to be bused up the canyon before we could use the porta potties. The trail was beautiful, nice and shady, and was diverse with downhill, uphill, and flat. I ran harder than I trained. My muscles are sore in a good way. Usually my goal is to get done and do the distance without really pushing myself. But, I shaved off some time per mile. K improved her time more than I did by keeping a good pace and not stopping like during the SL half. The last couple miles were killer. It was all mental to get it done from then on. Not having the mile markers played with my mind. I was so happy to see the finish line and booked it. Again, since we started dead last, we kept passing people, which helps in a twisted kind of way. They didn't have timing chips so the results will be skewed. We didn't start the race when the gun went off. We were stuck in line for the toilets.

Way to go, did you try Liz's ice bath?? See you Thursday!!
you are my hero, running hasn't ever been my thing--post 3 babies and look at you!
Awsome! You are so cool, I am getting ready for the 5k on the 6th Sep the Woman Wastch run. You would run circles around me.
Congrats on another race. I should have looked up some races before my trip out here. Not that I'm in shape right now for a half, but I would have loved to be in that shape. Oh and I love the pictures you take of your kids. What kind of camera/lens do you have?
Thanks!!!
lisa--It would of been fun to run together although we would have slowed you down. I looked up your result time to see what time to beat ;0). Yeah right!! You're fast. I'm thinking it's all that clogging you do. Your heart is much stronger than mine will ever be.
As far as the camera--nikon cool pix. It's falling apart. It's mostly editing. I use paint shop pro and sometimes photoshop.
Wow...you are a running machine! I have a goal to run the Provo trail half marathon next year. I am still in training mode so hopefully I will be ready and stick with it until next year! Thanks for being an inspiration to get out there and run!
Good for you! A half marathon seems so impossible to me, as I am just trying to not walk any of a 5k (not there yet!). You go girl!
Reed is planning on doing a half ironman next month. I think he is crazy. I think he needs to slow down a bit.
We did rock, huh?! Thanks for another awesome race experience. I am even more impressed after that one that you are still wanting to do a full next month. You are tough!
What? You're not going to run with me?! It'll be fun, nah, not really, but it'll be a good experience.
