Some shots of the race

Bright and early, my boys came to support me.
Thanks to the internet I learned how to rack my bike and set up my transition area in the nick of time.
My active three year old is pretty fearless. The kids somehow entertained themselves the whole time although I think it was pretty tough on C and Uncle L.

Someone help this person, I have no idea who she is.
Although the swim to bike transition took longer than the bike to run, it was easier. It's tough to try walking let alone start jogging after riding for so long.
Thank you to all who pitched in to buy me my road bike....my parents, mostly C's' parents, and of course C. I love it. It's comfortable, light, and has flat handle bars. It saved me.
Here are the boys during the race. As I came through the finish line all I could think was they must be starving, tired, and thirsty....poor little guys.

Congrats! I know Marisa hated having to do her tri with her mountain bike even though we got her slicks to ride on, she'll be jealous.

i was having a really hard time running after using my old bike. It's really heavy and has other things wrong with it. I was relieved and happy to have found this one on sale. Although Marisa used her mt. bike she did great in the race.....it must be a good one!

I must say... Looks like your almost drowning when your swimming. But hey, I sure wouldn't be able to pull that off. While riding the bike or running, at the first sign of like burger king i would be pulling over. Sad really. Love ya Sis. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (its bobby by the way)

Ok, I haven't been here forever because I lost the link to your blog! It was fun catching up on your posts, especially the one about ironing shirts. You're so cute!

You rock! I am so impressed. We were in Coeur d'alene, ID, this past weekend for a job interview. They have lots of Ironman's there if you are looking for a challenge! It is gorgeous there. The job would be a nice raise as well, but we still can't decide. It is just sooo far away from our families, and we like it here. Oh well. By the way, you look gorgeous! congrats again!

Sara, Is there any way I can convince you guys to move this way?!!

We can't afford to live there! Houses are so expensive, and the pay is pretty low! Reed looked at a job there, but the pay was just too low. We certainly wouldn't mind living there, if we could afford it.

I am so proud of you! You look great and your swimsuit is adorable. I think you look like a model and a professional swimmer at the same time, how did that work doing the swim in the pool? Was it crowded? Your road bike looks awesome, maybe I'll have to get one for next year. If we can find a triathlon next summer that coincides with my trip to Utah we should do it together. Congratulations!!!

Marisa, you are too kind. I think it would be so fun to do a triathlon together. About the swim...there were 8 lanes 50 meters each. We started at one end of the pool and snaked all the lanes until we hit the other end of the pool. Racers lined up according to how fast they can swim 400 meters. I was one of the last 15 racers to jump into the pool. Next time I'll line up earlier....I did end up bunching up with swimmers sometimes. I think some thought they could do it without training.
